Group Purchasing Organizations

The Council of Independent Colleges in Virginia (CICV) provides its member colleges access to discounted purchasing opportunities through its association with several group purchasing organizations:

Coalition for College Cost Savings

CICV is a member of the Coalition for College Cost Savings (The Coalition). The Coalition is comprised of 35 state-level associations that are dedicated to helping over 900 non-profit higher education institutions improve processes and reduce costs through collaboration. Through this organization, CICV is able to offer its members access to collaborative programs, such as:
Electronic Payments (outgoing) - Through a simple process change, Paymerang facilitates electronic payments between colleges and their vendors, employees and students. Backed by an award-winning software and network, Paymerang provides a complete accounts payable disbursement solution that includes software integration, vendor enrollment, payment process, and reconcilement. Clients import a single file of payment instructions and Paymerang executes financial transactions and delivers associated customized electronic payment details. The company partners with private colleges nationwide to quickly pay electronically without the addition of significant resources, compliance requirements, fraud detection, costs or credit limits that come from using traditional bank programs.
Electronic Payments (incoming) - Whether it's to simplify electronic billing, accept payments all over campus, offer flexible tuition payment plans, or create online storefronts, Blackboard Payments Powered by Cashnet fits your everyday campus needs and gives your students and authorized payers enhanced, flexible payment options.
Intercollegiate Sports Insurance   - In partnership with Pan-American Life Insurance Company, the Coalition has created cost-saving initiatives that address your intercollegiate sports exposure, offered exclusively through Borden Perlman Sports. With 30 years' experience in this very specialized market, Borden Perlman Sports is uniquely positioned as the exclusive distribution partner for this initiative.
Property/Casualty/Risk Management/Cyber/Workplace Violence Insurance   Ranked as the 5th largest privately held insurance brokerage firm in the United States, IMA's Higher Education practice has a 100% success rate in driving down colleges' net cost of their Property & Casualty Insurance Program. As specialists in designing and implementing association-sponsored collaborative insurance programs, IMA has helped clients achieve an average of over 30% premium savings. In addition, IMA's clients have been able to increase limits and reduce deductibles while maintaining the flexibility to tailor programs for their institution. For colleges not yet in the program, IMA's proprietary assessment and benchmarking process will allow CFOs and Risk Managers to efficiently and effectively quantify gaps and identify opportunities for improvement.

Long Term Care Insurance - AffinityLTC has negotiated a Best in Class employee Long Term Care Insurance benefit that can be offered on a voluntary or employer paid basis at little to no cost to your institution.
