Virginia Private College Week (In-Person AND Virtual)

July 25-30, 2022

Twenty-three outstanding Virginia private colleges and universities will host at least two daily information sessions for rising juniors, seniors, and their families. Prospective transfer students are also invited. Most colleges will offer both in-person visits as well as virtual visit opportunities. It is important that you contact each college directly to make arrangements for your visits because they may have limits on how many families they can host at any given time and other essential guidelines to follow.

Programs will include information sessions about academic/extracurricular programs, the admission process, and financial aid/scholarships. Sessions are typically offered Monday through Friday at 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. and on Saturday morning, though those times can vary.

Each will have established their own conditions under which in-person visits will be offered (mask policies, number of individuals per tour, health screening questions). Contact the Admissions Offices of those institutions which you may wish to visit in person to see if they are able to accommodate you.

VIRTUAL TOURS for all our member colleges are also available at: https://virtual.vaprivatecolleges.org/

Here's How You Participate:

1.Decide which colleges you would like to “visit”. Check out our map of Virginia private colleges and college profiles.

2.You don't need to register for Virginia Private College Week, but you MUST register with each college for their information session or other virtual visit. If you haven't registered (even for the virtual visits) we won't know you were there to arrange for the fee waivers.

3.If you participate in either an in-person or virtual visit at 3 or more participating colleges between July 25-30, you will receive 3 application fee waivers. You may use the application fee waivers at any college participating in Virginia Private College Week--not just those that you visited. You will also be entered in a drawing for one of five $100 Amazon Gift Cards.

4.Information on how to utilize the application fee waivers will be emailed to eligible participants in mid-September. Information on those who win the drawings will also be complete by mid-September. CICV collects this information from the colleges you attended during VPCW, either in person or virtually. If you are uncertain that you provided an email address during your in person or virtual tour or do not see your fee waiver by September, please email cicv@cicv.org, and we would be happy to assist you.

5.If you have questions, please contact CICV by email at cicv@cicv.org or (540) 586-0606. Email will generally be the fastest reply.

We look forward to your feedback on your experiences with this format of visits. And if we can be of assistance in your college search, please feel free to contact us.
