Debbie L. Sydow, President of Richard Bland College of the College of William and Mary, announced that Richard Bland has expanded its landmark agreement with the Council of Independent Colleges in Virginia (CICV). The agreement now guarantees admission for graduates of Richard Bland into twenty-one of the CICV colleges and universities. The first two-year college non-community college to partner with the CICV, Richard Bland students must have graduated with at least a 3.0 GPA and with an Associate in Art or an Associate in Science degree to be eligible for the historic agreement.
The unprecedented umbrella Guaranteed Transfer Agreement that Richard Bland originally established with eight CICV colleges and universities has been expanded to include thirteen additional CICV schools. The twenty-one participating schools are:
Eastern Mennonite University
Emory & Henry College
Jefferson College of Health Sciences
Mary Baldwin College
Southern Virginia University
Sweet Briar College
Virginia Union University
Virginia Wesleyan College
“Richard Bland College students will have a tremendous advantage by having a clear transfer pathway to any CICV college or university,” said President Sydow. “From acceptance to degree completion, our students can seamlessly map their journey, choosing from a diverse array of CICV institutions and programs.”
