Save Money
You may be interested in just visiting one or two colleges during the week. However, if you visit three or more participating colleges during Virginia Private College Week, you will receive three application fee waivers. This means no application fee for three Virginia private colleges of your choice.
Visiting Colleges Is Important
Web sites, brochures, and the recommendations of friends are definitely helpful. However, visiting campuses in person is one of the most important steps in the college search process.
Which college is the best fit for you? Which college just feels right?
The Private College Advantage
During Virginia Private College Week, you will learn about the quality and affordability of our colleges.
Private colleges are different from many state universities because of our small classes and the personal attention our students receive from faculty. Our students are engaged in the classroom, involved on campus, mentored by their professors, and prepared for a career or graduate school.

25 members of the Council of Independent Colleges in Virginia (CICV) host two daily programs for rising juniors (Class of 2012) and seniors (Class of 2011) -- and their families. Prospective transfer students are also invited. The program includes a campus tour and an information session about admissions, financial aid, and academic/extracurricular programs.
On Monday-Friday (July 26 - July 30), there will be a morning (9 am) and afternoon (2 pm) session.* On Saturday, July 31, there will be a morning (9 am) session only.** Colleges with exceptions to this schedule are listed below.
