In December, Governor Northam presented his proposed budget to the House and Senate money committees. The budget included funding to increase the budget for the Tuition Assistance Grant (TAG) appropriation to $79,598,303.
-
The TAG award amount for 2021-2022 will be $4,000 for undergraduate students and $2,200 for graduate students in health professions programs, which is a significant increase from the prior year and an all-time high award amount.
-
As of fall 2021, students enrolled fully online will be eligible for TAG grants of $2,000 (undergraduates) and $2,200 (graduate students in health professions). Those fully online students who were part of the TAG program as of 2019 will continue to receive awards of $3,400 (undergraduates) and $1,760 (graduate students) until their eligibility is complete.
-
We thank all the students, parents, college presidents, and college staff who worked to advocate for an such a significant increase in the TAG award for 2021-22.
